Boscott on the starting blocks
Several new statistical arbitrage and quant-based funds are now on the launch-pad in Europe. Among those coming through in January is Ed Boscott, who previously designed models used by Barclays Global Investors to manage some $10 billion in long-only and market neutral money, and who has spent 12 months building a dedicated platform.
Boscott’s Oxford & Cambridge Investment Management has already become the first fund in the UK to attract support from a venture capital firm, Kit Hunter-Gordon’s Summit Group. It has now also lined up $10 million in seed capital from one major investor as Boscott begins an eight-week marketing campaign.
